Take-Two Interactive has released the financial report for the fiscal year 2021-2023 Q4, the data of which tells us that the company has recorded net revenue of $ 3.5 billion in the last year, up 4%. Digital alone earned $ 3.15 billion, and operating income dropped from $ 629 million to $ 474 million.
The report also reveals the sales numbers of the largest franchises managed by Take-Two. Let’s start of the course with Grand Theft Auto, with the series reaching the bombastic figure of 375 million units sold. GTA 5 continues inexorably to sell almost 9 years after its launch, with the open-world sandbox having risen to 165 million copies, and with 5 million placed only in the last quarter of the fiscal year. According to the publisher, we are talking about the most successful game of the last decade in the US.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has meanwhile reached 44 million copies sold (1 million more since December 2021). It is the second most successful game of the last 5 years in the US. The western series thus rises to 67 million units overall.
The 8 million copies of NBA 2K22 help the basketball series reach 123 million globally (2 million more since December). Borderlands 3 is instead at 15 million units sold (76 million for the franchise), the Sid Meier’s Civilization series at 61 million and that BioShock at 39 million. Take-Two also confirmed that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands ‘ market performance exceeded the company’s expectations.
